Jasper A. Cork' Cagle Central Christian member was Westinghouse retiree Jasper A. "Cork" Cagle of Sharon, passed away at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. He was 81. Mr. Cagle was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Jasper A. Cagle Sr. and Willie Elizabeth Brown Cagle. He graduated from Sharon High School in 1946. Cork worked as a pipefitter for 40 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., retiring in 1986. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Hermitage, where he held many positions. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Cagle served in the Korean conflict. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed camping, gardening and reading. His wife, the former Virginia Jones, whom he married Sept. 11, 1953, survives in Sharon. Also surviving are four sons, Daniel S. Cagle and his wife Debra, Transfer; Brian L. Cagle, Morgantown, Pa.; Paul E. Cagle and his wife Diane, Mercer; and Gerald W. Cagle and his wife Kimberly, Sharpsville; his grandchildren, Ashley Cagle, Natalie Cagle, Jessica Jacobs and her husband Jason, Krysten Cagle, Joseph Cagle, Amanda Cagle and Michael Cagle; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Elizabeth Cagle, Dorothy Watson and Kathryn Robertson; and a brother, Thomas Cagle. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, 218 Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage, PA 16148; or to a local Alzheimer's group.
