William A. ‘Chip’ Miller
Farrell man was longtime pressman, avid sports fan
A funeral service will be held Thursday for William A. “Chip” Miller of Lavigne
Manor, 39 Cathedral Drive, Farrell. He passed away at 4:29 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, in St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, Youngstown. He was 80. Mr. Miller was born April 6, 1930, in Brookfield to Arthur and Pearl Anderson Miller.
Chip attended Farrell High School. He worked for what is now The Herald newspaper in Sharon for 50 years as a pressman, and also worked for the Wall
Street Journal printing plant in Shenango Township, and The Vindicator, Youngstown, where he covered local sporting events on the weekends. He retired in 1992. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Hermitage; and American Legion Post 299 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1338, both Sharon. Chip was an avid sports fan and especially liked following local high school sports. In his earlier years, he was a coach for the Sharon Little League. He currently enjoyed traveling with his friends and going out to breakfast at many different
locations. He greatly enjoyed helping out at Farrell and Sharon farmers’ markets. Surviving are: his children, Cheryl Redmond, Hermitage; William A. Miller Jr. and his wife Cheryl, Round Rock, Texas; Laura Buckley, Rome, Ohio; Tricia Barovich and her husband Joe, Hermitage; and Kelli Moskal and her husband Lorne, New Castle; two brothers, Jack Miller and his wife Donna, Dunedin, Fla.; and Richard Miller and his wife Carol, West Middlesex; 11
grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and a sister-inlaw, Jean Miller, Sharpsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Miller.

Service: Funeral service at 11a.m. Thursday (7-29-10) in the funeral
home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sutton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Sharpsville, officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Sharon Honor Guard.
Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
