Dolores ‘Dolly’ Elia
Sharon woman had been bookkeeper in California
Dolores “Dolly” Elia of Sharon passed away at 11:02 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 67. Ms. Elia was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Farrell to Vincent and Susan Arcuri Elia. Dolores graduated from Farrell High School in 1960. She worked until 1976 for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., then moved to San Diego, where she worked for an accounting firm as a bookkeeper until 1996. She was of the Catholic faith. Dolores enjoyed reading and antiquing and found great comfort in her pets, Rosie, Cosmo, Max, Louie, Charlie and Rocky. Surviving are: a daughter, Jenny Falvey and her husband Jason, Sharpsville; four sisters, Joanne White and her husband Bill; and Debbie Dilts and her husband Paul, all Sharon; Betty Barnette and her husband Rudy, New Lexington, Ohio; and Mary Brenneman, Jamestown; three brothers, Jerry Elia and his wife Kim, Columbia, S.C.; Bob Elia, Sharon; and Sam Elia, Farrell; and her pets and granddogs, Sofie, Carli and Emi. She also leaves Lynda Jensen, whom she helped raise, and Lynda’s husband Kraig, Boston. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Nancy Elia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Club Pet Adoption, 20 Schaller Road, Transfer, PA 16154.
