Betty Jane Richardson Driscoll
Lively, generous aunt was Westinghouse retiree
Betty Jane Richardson Driscoll, of Countryside Convalescent Home, formerly of
Hermitage Hills Boulevard, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, surrounded by her family, at Sharon Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was 90. She was born Aug. 7, 1919 in Sharon, a
daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Smith) Richardson. Betty graduated with
Sharon High School Class of 1937. She was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in its payroll department and reception room for 21 years, until her retirement in 1962. After moving
to California, Betty was a group leader for TG&Y distribution office center for 25 years. She married Robert (Bob) Driscoll Dec. 15, 1962, in Los Angeles, then moved to La Mirada, Calif., for the next 26 years. After their retirement,
they returned to Hermitage, where her husband passed away on May 3, 1998. Betty was a life member of Community Church of Christ, Sharon, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 242, Sharon. She enjoyed traveling on several bus trips, having luncheons with her classmates and working on their class reunions. Betty will be dearly missed by her two nieces and caretakers,
Carol Jean Bauzo, Hermitage, and Nancy Beth Kelley, Centerburg, Ohio. She
also is survived by 10 other nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and greatnephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Iftikhar Chatha and to the skilled staff at Countryside Convalescent Home for the
care and compassion shown toward their aunt. Betty was an energetic and
lively lady with a heart of gold. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Isabelle Thompson and Nellie Kelly; and three brothers, William, Harold and Ralph Richardson. Memorial contributions
