Bruce C. Mild
Westinghouse retiree was wrestling coach, booster
Bruce C. Mild of Hermitage passed away at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in
Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness. He was 80. Mr. Mild was born March 6, 1929, in Bethel, Pa., to John and Sara Snyder Mild. He graduated
in 1947 from Hickory High School, Hermitage. Mr. Mild was a laborer for 35 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric
Corp., retiring in 1982. After his retirement, he worked for 10 years as a janitor at First Presbyterian Church of Sharon. Mr. Mild was a member of
Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township. Bruce was a past president
for Hickory Wrestling Boosters and enjoyed helping coach wrestling at Hermitage
schools. He enjoyed hunting and camping and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
His wife, the former Virginia Brant, whom he married July 2, 1949, survives at home. Also surviving are: two daughters, Denise Herrmann and her husband Tim, Sharon; and Debra Caszatt, Hermitage; a son, Bruce C. Mild II and his wife Maureen, Hermitage; a sister, Sally Finnen and her husband Bill, Irvine, Calif.; four grandchildren, Tiffani, Brett, Becky and Mellani; and his great-grandchildren, Stella, Brayden, Henry and Amelia. Mr. Mild was preceded in
death by his parents and three brothers, John, William and Richard Mild.
