was Vietnam War veteran

Robert “Bob” Charles Nicklow,340 Meek St., Sharon, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in his home after an extended illness. He was 64.
Mr. Nicklow was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Uniontown, Pa., to Robert Charles and
Irene Jacob Nicklow. Bob graduated from Farrell High School in 1951, then ttended Youngstown State University and the Shenango campus of Penn State University, Sharon. He was employed at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant as a laborer and as a crossing guard for Conrail. He retired in 1992.
Bob served in the Army from 1965-67 in the 91st Evacuation Hospital Division as a medic during the Vietnam conflict. He belonged to the American Carpatho-Russian Citizens and Social Club, American Legion Post 299 and Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 1338, all Sharon. Bob enjoyed hanging out with his friends at McDonald’s restaurant, Sharon, as well as playing the lottery and singing.
Surviving are: his son, Shawn Starkey and his companion Victoria Lanning,
Sharon; two sisters, Mabel Timko, Hermitage; and Doris Trump and her husband Harry, Sharon; his brother, George Duritsa and his wife Deborah, Uniontown; and two stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Tatayana Lanning. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Service: Funeral service at 10
a.m. Saturday (7-25-09) in the funeral
home chapel with clergy to be announced.
Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park,
Hermitage, with full military honors by
the Sharon Honor Guard.
